Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was an athlete all my life and after College and stepping into the adult world I really couldn’t find anything that related to Soccer conditioning. CrossFit was the closest thing to that style of conditioning.  So that is one reason, but my ultimate reason is my Autoimmune Disease (Type 1 Diabetes). When I was 25 years old I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.  CrossFit has helped me control this Disease.  CrossFit and I have been buddies ever since.

Why did you become a Trainer?

I became a trainer so I would be able to pass on the knowledge I learn to the youth, and my peers.  I love breaking down and explaining why certain movements and workouts help you through life and how to visualize your plan of attack on a workout.  It’s very transparent to real life situations. This drives me everyday to help my community succeed in life.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

I’m big into gymnastics. I love moving weight around, but anyone can do that. Not everyone can conquer the gymnastics world and it takes discipline and flexibility and patience.  If you look at the list of body movements that entail gymnastics, it’s typically a mile long. These movements are part of real life situations.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Favorite cheat food has got to be Pizza….. And beer 🙂

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

My favorite Super Hero is the Dalai Lama (Lhamo Dondrub) His patience and view of life has really helped me see who people really are, and shows me patience.  I also see the good in everyone. Everyone has light within them and I like to be the person to help show them down that path.  I know all this might sound off the wall, but so far I’ve done a damn good job with this and I will never stop my quest to get better at it.

I have always loved working with people and helping. Fitness has always played a part in my life, so the decision was easy.

Why did you become a trainer?

Loved training CrossFit and the transition from training and competing to coaching felt so natural that I knew I had to follow it. Training with others I was already helping and coaching during I wanted to be able to do more.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?
I’ve been active my whole life. I was on the swim and water polo teams in high school, taught Pilates for a while in college, and started running marathons my senior year of college. I started CrossFit when I was new in town and needed to find a way to exercise consistently. I’ve always been more likely to stick to a group exercise class than trying to do my own thing alone.

Why did you become a Trainer?
I love the community aspect of CrossFit. You just can’t find that in any other type of program. I want to be able to help others find the joy of exercise and find their place in our community.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?
Snatches and overhead squats

What is your favorite cheat food?
Dark chocolate. And gluten free cookies.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?
Hermione Granger. I’m not big into Marvel or DC comics and never have been, but the Harry Potter books and movies hold a special place in my heart. My family read the first three books aloud during a long camping trip when I was in junior high. I love how Hermione is intelligent, brave, hard working, full of compassion for others, and not afraid to tell Harry and Ron when they are being idiots. Plus, I’ve been compared to her with my curly (and often frizzy) brown hair and know-it-all tendency.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

My parents actually got me into Crossfit, it’s a great way to stay healthy, look good, and make a great family with everyone at the gym.

Why did you become a Trainer?

I became a trainer because I realized that I love helping people get the most out of their time at the gym. For most people the gym is where they go to reset their mind and body and I love being able to help with that.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

I really love overhead squats!

What is your favorite cheat food?

Absolutely anything with sugar, I have to stay away because when I start I just don’t have an off switch haha!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was a gymnast for most of my life, but had been out of gymnastics for 6 years and hadn’t found another outlet I loved the way I loved gymnastics. I wandered around global gyms for hours trying to figure out what to do with myself, and then one day a trainer caught me at 24 hour fitness while I was doing handstands. He said he believed I was in the wrong place. He told me about Crossfit and asked if I’d be willing to give it a try. After my very first workout at Crossfit Acro, I knew I found where I was supposed to be.

Why did you become a Trainer?

I have coached young kids in gymnastics for about 14 years. I started coaching because I was in a sport that I knew well, and I knew I couldn’t do it forever myself. I wanted to pass on the knowledge and love I had gained from the sport for as long as I could. Somewhere in the midst of that mindset, I realized I just want to help people become better versions of themselves. I want them to be happy with themselves, believe that they can set goals and achieve them because they are worth it. I believe that through exercise, you can help the mind immensely. And shoot, if you can help someone’s mind, you can help their life. Who wouldn’t want to do a profession like that?!:)

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

It depends on where you place it in a workout;) Haha.

But I suppose bar muscle ups. They’re just cool.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Candy! The more sour, fruity, and sugary, the better.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

My parents. They are real live versions of Superheroes. They’re the most selfless, centered, hardworking people I know. I wouldn’t be surprised if they could secretly fly, but just haven’t found the right time to tell me yet.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I have always loved fitness and weight lifting ever since I was introduced to it in my high school weightlifting class. Right outside of high school I got a job at the local gym. I worked my way up into management positions and stayed with the company for 12 years. After leaving that company I tried Crossfit and fell in love after my first class.

Why did you become a Trainer?

I have always worked in a gym and in a variety of positions since I was 18. After I joined a Crossfit gym and had been working out there for about 2 years I knew training and sharing my passion for the sport was what I wanted to do.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Although not my best movement but overhead squat is my favorite.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Pizza or brownies

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Thor- Um because he is amazing and pretty much a bad a$$!!!!!!
