What year did you start CrossFitting?

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?
I’ve been active my whole life. I was on the swim and water polo teams in high school, taught Pilates for a while in college, and started running marathons my senior year of college. I started CrossFit when I was new in town and needed to find a way to exercise consistently. I’ve always been more likely to stick to a group exercise class than trying to do my own thing alone.

Why did you become a Trainer?
I love the community aspect of CrossFit. You just can’t find that in any other type of program. I want to be able to help others find the joy of exercise and find their place in our community.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?
Snatches and overhead squats

What is your favorite cheat food?
Dark chocolate. And gluten free cookies.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?
Hermione Granger. I’m not big into Marvel or DC comics and never have been, but the Harry Potter books and movies hold a special place in my heart. My family read the first three books aloud during a long camping trip when I was in junior high. I love how Hermione is intelligent, brave, hard working, full of compassion for others, and not afraid to tell Harry and Ron when they are being idiots. Plus, I’ve been compared to her with my curly (and often frizzy) brown hair and know-it-all tendency.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I have always been into fitness! My mom recalls me wanting her to purchase “lean cuisine” meals for me when I was young because I thought they were healthy and they’d help me get six pack abs! čśë I became a gym rat after college! I started CrossFit simply because I WAS SCARED OF CROSSFIT! I had to prove to myself that I could do it! One WOD and I was hooked!

Why did you become a trainer?

I became a trainer because I love CrossFit (and fitness in general), I love people, I love to encourage others, and I know enough about nutrition to help people be successful with their nutrient consumption and workout regimen. With all of these weapons in my arsenal I figured I could really help someone reach their personal physical goals.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Push ups are my jam! All day eeerrr-day!

What is your favorite cheat food?

I’m a carb girl! If it’s carb-a-licious, I’ll love it! I’m also southern, so someone give me a casserole of some sort with extra butter, salt and pepper!

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

I’m not really into superheroes; I’m more of a sparkly, blinged-out, physique focused girl…all things girly, but with muscles! So, if I were a superhero, I’d have to break the mold and create a new group…I’d be a part of the MUSCLES AND MASCARA MAFIA!
